WIC Program Manager – 1611 R

Annual Salary = $57, 911

 

 

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES

 

In the Department of Health, Human and Veterans Services, the WIC Program Manager is responsible for oversight of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program. The WIC Program Manager will develop, prepare and present program proposals, analyze the nutritional needs, the problems and resources of out-Wayne County and establishing long and short term priorities and goals. The WIC Program Manager will also develop and monitor implementation of local policies; manage evaluations and federal audits; implement and monitor applicable recommendations; monitor clinic operations and evaluate policy compliance, monitor caseload; participate in the budget process; monitor current and proposed sources of grant funds, and analyze outcomes to monitor success and maintain compliance. The WIC Program Manager will direct and approve the development of departmental policies and programs; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with educational, research, and other nutrition related public and private agencies, and plan and participate in staff development and in-service training program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Approved applicants will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Nutrition, Nursing, or a similar related subject area; AND
  • Registration as a Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association; AND
  • At least five years of full-time paid Nutritional Health experience; AND
  • At least two years of full-time paid Supervisory or Management experience.
