2020 Calendar of Events
Monthly educational meetings are held the second Thursday of the month in September, October, November, and May. We also host a Saturday workshop in March, and our annual daytime Margaret L. King lecture in April. There are no educational meetings the remaining months of the year.
Monthly meetings are held at Ascension Providence Hospital Southfield Campus, Fisher Center Auditorium at 16001 West Nine Mile Road, Southfield, MI.
Networking & light refreshments at 6:00 p.m., educational meetings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Meeting times may vary throughout the year, so please check the times below.
Continuing professional education is available free to SEMDA members at each meeting, and at a cost of $10.00/CPEU for non-members. Don’t forget that professional networking takes place for 30 minutes prior to each meeting, so come early!

Legislative Day is March 19, 2020 and we are happy to announce registration is currently open. We need your help in Lansing this year. As we prepare to advocate for licensure at the state capital, we need the force of many dietetics professionals to lay the groundwork for this important endeavor.
This event is free to attend and includes two CEUs with an additional CEU available for the pre-work webinar which will be held March 10th from 7:00-8:00 PM. The webinar is required for students and first time attendees. It will be recorded and available to watch up until the day of the event.

Cooking Matters Volunteer Opportunity
Love to Cook? Love to help others? We need volunteer Culinary Instructors, Nutrition Instructors, and Classroom Assistants to teach a Cooking Matters nutrition-based cooking class to those at risk of hunger! Classes meet for 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks. We provide curricula, kitchen supplies, and staff support. Many classes to choose from in Wayne, Oakland, Monroe, Macomb, and Livingston counties.
